Police arrested three people, including the main shooter, in connection with the murder of Swechchhasebak Dal leader Azizur Rahman Musabbir in the capital.
A team of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) conducted a drive in Manikganj and Gazipur districts on Friday (January 9) night and arrested them.
A top DB official confirmed the information to the media. He said, "Three people, including the accused shooter Zeenat and the suspected planner Billal, have been arrested."
He also said that the third person arrested is believed to be an accomplice of the two.
Earlier, on Wednesday (December 7) at around 8:30 pm, former general secretary of Swechchhasebak Dal Dhaka Metropolitan North Azizur Rahman Musabbir (45) was shot dead by terrorists in the alley of Star Hotel in Tejturi Bazar.
His wife Suraiya Begum has filed a murder case with Tejgaon Police Station as the plaintiff in the incident.
