Chinese actor‑singer Yu Menglong has died at 37 after falling from a building

Yu Menglong’s management team issued a statement saying that police found no evidence of criminal activity in the actor’s death.

The statement read: “With unbearable grief we announce that our beloved Menglong passed away after falling on September 11. Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope that he rests in peace, and his loved ones stay strong.”

Earlier, a paparazzi post shared news of his death (later deleted), claiming that on September 9 Yu Menglong had dinner with several close friends at a friend’s house. The post said that around 2:00 am on September 11 he locked himself in a bedroom. When his friends left the house around 6:00 am, he was nowhere to be found. Descending downstairs, they allegedly discovered his body on the floor. A neighbour, walking their dog, reportedly noticed something amiss and alerted the police.
