Iran Still Holds Over 1,000 Ballistic Missiles, Israeli Military Estimates

Israeli intelligence believes Iran retains significant missile capability despite ongoing conflict and sustained launches across the region.
Israel believes that Iran still possesses more than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israeli territory, according to an Israeli Air Force intelligence official speaking to Channel 12 News.
The official, identified as Lieutenant Colonel “Tet,” who leads research on Iranian missiles and drones within the Air Intelligence Group, stated that despite ongoing military exchanges, Iran maintains a substantial strike capability.
At the beginning of the conflict, the Israel Defense Forces estimated that Iran had approximately 2,500 ballistic missiles. Since then, Iran has reportedly launched over 500 missiles toward Israel, along with hundreds more targeting other countries in the Middle East.
Military assessments also suggest that several hundred missiles may have been destroyed during strikes or failed launches. In recent weeks, however, the rate of Iranian missile attacks on Israel has decreased significantly, dropping to around 10–15 per day compared to nearly 90 on the first day of the conflict.
Despite the decline, Israeli officials do not expect the attacks to cease entirely. The intelligence officer noted that missile launches are likely to continue, though not at levels significantly higher than what has already been observed.
From the outset of the conflict, Israeli military evaluations indicated that Iran would sustain its offensive operations, with the potential for fluctuations in intensity over time.
The ongoing situation continues to raise concerns over regional security, as both sides maintain their military capabilities amid escalating tensions.
