Trump Signals Shift from Threats to Deal Hopes with Iran

After issuing a strong military warning, former US President Donald Trump expressed optimism about reaching a deal with Iran within days.
Former United States President Donald Trump has shifted his tone on Iran, moving from issuing threats of a major attack to expressing hope for a possible agreement with Tehran.
On Sunday, Trump warned via a post on his platform that Iran could face devastating military action if certain conditions were not met, including reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. He suggested that failure to comply would lead to severe consequences, escalating tensions in the already volatile region.
However, shortly after the warning, Trump struck a more diplomatic tone, stating in an interview that he believes a deal with Iran could be reached as early as Monday. He claimed that discussions were ongoing between the two sides and expressed confidence in a potential breakthrough.
Despite these claims, Iran has repeatedly denied engaging in any negotiations with the United States, maintaining that no such talks have taken place.
Earlier in his remarks, Trump also hinted at targeting key Iranian infrastructure, including power facilities and bridges, suggesting a large-scale operation if tensions continued to rise.
The developments come amid ongoing instability in the Middle East, where the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global shipping route. Concerns over its closure have heightened international fears of economic disruption and further escalation in the conflict.
The contrasting statements highlight uncertainty surrounding US-Iran relations, as diplomatic signals and military rhetoric continue to unfold simultaneously.
