Members of the Council of Advisers have started visiting districts across the country to promote public awareness about the upcoming referendum on the July Charter. The week-long campaign began on January 15 and will continue until January 21.
Advisers of the interim government have launched a nationwide outreach campaign to inform citizens about the importance, objectives and procedures of the referendum linked to the July Charter. The initiative, led by members of the Council of Advisers responsible for election monitoring and assistance, officially commenced on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the campaign aims to ensure broad public understanding and participation in the referendum process. During the visits, advisers will engage with people from various walks of life, including local administration officials, professionals, community leaders and representatives of civil society.
The advisers will explain the significance of the July Charter, the purpose of holding a referendum, and how citizens can take part effectively. The government believes that direct interaction at the district level will help dispel confusion, build trust and encourage informed participation.
On the first day of the campaign, Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser for Local Government, began his visit to Chattogram. His schedule includes meetings with relevant officials and participation in several awareness programmes.
The interim government hopes that the week-long initiative will strengthen civic engagement and ensure that voters clearly understand the referendum before casting their ballots.
