BGB Increases Surveillance Along Brahmanbaria Border After Shooting Incident

In response to the shooting incident involving Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inquilab Front, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified its surveillance along a 73-kilometer stretch of the Brahmanbaria border. Increased vehicle checks have also been implemented to ensure no suspects can escape the country via the border.
The heightened security measures were put in place on the night of Friday, December 12, 2025, to prevent any criminals from fleeing across the border. According to Lieutenant Colonel Jobbar Ahmed, the commanding officer of the 25 BGB Battalion in Brahmanbaria's Sarail, patrol activities in key areas, including Akhaura, Bijoynagar, and parts of Habiganj, have been doubled in accordance with headquarters' directives. The BGB has made it clear that no one will be allowed to cross the border illegally.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Ziaur Rahman, commanding officer of the 60 BGB Battalion in Brahmanbaria, emphasized that additional checks have been placed on the borders of Comilla and Brahmanbaria to prevent terrorists from crossing. He further stated that the BGB is committed to maintaining border security and preventing the illegal movement of criminals across the border in the interest of national security.
