Five-Year-Old Boy Missing in Dhaka’s Pallabi for Four Days as Family Demands Answers

A five-year-old boy has been missing for four days after mysteriously disappearing from a residential area in Dhaka’s Pallabi, prompting growing concern among family members and local residents as police continue their investigation.

The missing child, identified as Ibrahim, was last seen on the evening of June 6 while playing near his family's residence. His disappearance has drawn significant attention because it occurred in the same neighborhood where another recent high-profile criminal case involving a child victim had shocked residents.
 

According to Ibrahim’s parents, the boy had been playing outside their home as he did regularly. They said surveillance camera footage from the area showed Ibrahim entering a building at approximately 7:21 pm on the day he went missing.
 

Family members claim the footage also captured another individual entering the building shortly behind the child. They further alleged that a scream believed to be Ibrahim’s was heard shortly after he entered the premises. Minutes later, the unidentified individual was reportedly seen leaving the building in a hurried manner. Since then, no trace of the child has been found.
 

The family has filed a case with Pallabi Police Station and has appealed to law enforcement agencies to conduct an extensive search operation.

Relatives said the family has lived in the area for nearly a decade and has no known disputes or conflicts with neighbors. However, they have expressed suspicions regarding certain individuals connected to the property where they reside. The allegations remain unverified, and police have not publicly linked any specific person to the child's disappearance.
 

Ibrahim’s father, who earns a living as a street food vendor, described the incident as a devastating ordeal for the family. Ibrahim is the youngest of his three children.
 

Residents familiar with the building said access to the rooftop is generally restricted and controlled by the property owner. The limited access has fueled questions among neighbors about how the child could have disappeared within such a short period of time without being noticed.
 

Police officials confirmed that an investigation is underway and said all available evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements, is being examined. Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation while investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.
 

Mohammad Emdadul Haque, an investigation officer at Pallabi Police Station, said the case is being treated with importance and that investigators are actively pursuing leads. He added that no arrests had been made so far and that police were continuing efforts to locate the child and establish the facts of the case.
 

As the search enters its fifth day, Ibrahim’s family continues to wait for answers, hoping that new evidence will help authorities uncover his whereabouts and bring him home safely.
