The price of gold in Bangladesh has hit an all-time high, surpassing all previous records, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
In a significant development, the price of gold in Bangladesh has reached a new peak. On January 25, 2026, BAJUS announced that the price of 22-carat gold per tola (11.664 grams) has increased by 1,574 Taka, setting the price at 257,191 Taka per tola. This increase marks the highest price ever recorded for gold in the country's history.
The new prices, which will be effective from Monday, January 26, 2026, are as follows:
-
22-carat gold: 257,191 Taka per tola
-
21-carat gold: 245,527 Taka per tola
-
18-carat gold: 210,419 Taka per tola
-
Traditional gold: 172,919 Taka per tola
-
BAJUS stated that the price hike was due to the increased cost of refined gold in the international market. This record-breaking price surge is expected to have significant implications for the jewelry market and consumers across the country.
