Gold Prices Rise Again, Effective from Today

Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased by nearly 4,000 taka per tola, with new rates effective from December 23, 2025.
Gold prices in Bangladesh have risen once again, with an increase of 3,966 taka per tola. As of today, December 23, 2025, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at 222,083 taka per tola.
The news was announced in a statement issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on the night of December 22, 2025. The new rates will take effect immediately.
According to the notification, the rise in gold prices is attributed to an increase in the price of refined (pure) gold in the local market.
New Gold Prices:

22-carat: 222,083 taka per tola

Traditional method: 151,399 taka per tola
The statement also mentions that the selling price of gold must include a 5% government-mandated VAT and a 6% minimum wage set by BAJUS. However, the actual labor charges may vary based on the design and quality of the jewelry.
In addition, the price of silver has also increased. The new silver prices are:
