Government to Sell Beef at 650 Taka During Ramadan to Ease Hardships

In a bid to alleviate the difficulties faced by fasting individuals during Ramadan, the government will offer beef, eggs, milk, and chicken at subsidized prices across various locations.
As part of its annual initiative to provide essential goods at affordable prices during Ramadan, the government has announced the sale of beef, chicken, milk, and eggs at subsidized rates. Starting this Ramadan, beef will be sold at 650 Taka per kilogram, processed chicken at 250 Taka per kilogram, milk at 80 Taka per liter, and eggs at 8 Taka each.
The decision was made in a meeting at the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock on Sunday, February 1st, where it was also decided to increase the number of selling locations compared to the previous year. This year, the government will sell these goods at 48 designated locations.
Dr. Md. Abu Sufian, Director General of the Department of Livestock, confirmed the initiative, emphasizing that the aim is to reduce the hardships of fasting individuals during Ramadan. He added that discussions with suppliers have been successful, and this year more locations will be designated for selling these products compared to last year.
