Education boards in Bangladesh have announced the tentative schedule for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, considering national events and Ramadan.
The Education Board has outlined the probable dates for Bangladesh’s 2026 SSC and HSC examinations. According to the plan, SSC and equivalent exams are expected to begin in the last week of April, while HSC exams are scheduled for the final week of June.
Board officials noted that disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in previous years made it difficult to maintain the traditional schedule, where SSC exams were typically held in February and HSC exams in April. This year, the schedule was adjusted to account for the national elections and the observance of Ramadan.
Preparations for the SSC exams are already underway. Students have completed preliminary selection tests and form submissions, while final arrangements for question papers and exam centers are being finalized.
For HSC and equivalent students, form submission will begin on March 1, with the Education Boards aiming to complete the process within one to two weeks. Authorities are also taking steps to ensure that administrative and technical arrangements are fully in place to start the exams on schedule.
Professor Khandakar Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Board Coordination Committee, stated, “We are committed to conducting the exams fairly, safely, and peacefully. With preparatory activities nearly complete, we are confident that the SSC and HSC exams will start as planned.”
