Olympic-winning Brazilian coach emerges as candidate as Bangladesh continues search for new leadership

Brazilian football coach Rogerio Micale has reportedly submitted his application for the head coach position of the Bangladesh national football team, according to sources familiar with the development.
 

Micale is best known for guiding Brazil to a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and leading the Brazil U20 team to the final of the FIFA U20 World Cup. He has also played an important role in developing several top Brazilian players, including Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, and Marquinhos during their early careers.
 

Over the years, he has coached Brazil’s U20 and U23 national teams, as well as youth teams in Egypt. His international experience also includes a spell with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, adding to his strong coaching résumé across multiple footballing environments.
 

The reported application comes as Bangladesh continues efforts to strengthen its national football program by exploring experienced foreign coaching options to improve long-term performance and development.
 

If appointed, Micale’s extensive background in youth development and international competition is expected to bring tactical discipline and structural improvements to Bangladesh football as the team looks to progress on the regional and global stage.
