The beginning of the Six-G era: 9 movies will be downloaded in one second
The Chronify
The United Arab Emirates has once again made history in the tech world. For the first time in the Middle East, a 6G (6A) internet service has been launched experimentally in Abu Dhabi, with a speed of 145 gigabits per second (Gbps). This incredible speed is being regarded as a groundbreaking milestone for the country’s telecommunications sector.
This experimental initiative was carried out by the Abu Dhabi-based telecom giant E&UAE. The company claims that it will take future communication systems to an entirely new level.
At a speed of 145 Gbps, a user could theoretically download around nine full-length HD movies per second! In other words, with this massive data-transfer capability, 6G marks the beginning of the next-generation internet revolution.
Masood M. Sharif Mahmud, CEO of E&UAE, said, “In practical terms, 6G means speed beyond instant response, massive bandwidth, and quantum-resistant security. This will make connections between networks smoother and more efficient.”
He added that while 5.5G is designed for “Physical AI” services, 6G will be smarter, more autonomous, and creative. It will not only cover land areas but also ensure uninterrupted internet across deserts, seas, and airspace, creating a “network of networks.”
Marwan Bin Shaker, acting Chief Technology Officer of E&UAE, said, “This achievement will realize the transformative potential of 6G. It will completely change the way people, businesses, and smart cities are connected.”
