Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has declared that the era of family-centric politics is over, calling instead for a government rooted in justice and accountability.
Speaking at the historic Circuit House ground on Tuesday afternoon, February 3, 2026, the Jamaat chief and leader of the 11-Party Alliance delivered a sharp critique of the country’s political status quo. He argued that the people are no longer willing to be subjects of individual or family dynasties, but rather want a system where the "people are the true owners of the state."

Key Highlights from the Rally:
- Rejection of Dynastic Rule: Dr. Shafiqur asserted that the uprising of 2024 was a clear mandate against authoritarianism and "family-based vested groups." He stated that the public is now seeking "tested and proven" leadership that prioritizes the nation over personal gain.
- Justice and Accountability: He promised a government based on Insaaf (equity), where corruption, extortion, and "case trading" would be eradicated. He alleged that even after the August 5 transition, some groups have continued to shield loan defaulters and harass ordinary citizens.
- Focus on Youth: Addressing the younger generation, he noted that they reject "trickery" and "allowance-based" politics. "The youth don't want to be beggars; they want dignified employment and a country free from the shadow of fascism," he declared.
- The 11-Party Alliance: The rally served as a major show of strength for the 11-Party Alliance (including the National Citizen Party and LDP), which has emerged as a primary challenger to the BNP in the upcoming February 12 polls.
The Jamaat Ameer also touched upon national issues, reiterating that the alliance would ensure the security of all citizens, including religious minorities, and would not tolerate any "assault on the honor of mothers and sisters." He concluded by urging the people of Mymensingh to protect their voting rights on polling day to prevent "vote robbers" from returning to power.
