BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has urged voters in greater Noakhali to ensure victory for the party’s Sheaf of Paddy candidates. Addressing a massive rally in Feni, he highlighted his family ties to the region and outlined BNP’s development commitments.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman on Sunday called on voters to ensure the victory of BNP candidates in all constituencies of greater Noakhali, describing the region as his maternal ancestral home.

Speaking at an election rally at the Feni Pilot School ground, Tarique said he has deep emotional and family ties with Chattogram, Feni and Noakhali.
“My maternal ancestral home is here,” he said, addressing thousands of party leaders and supporters gathered at the venue.

He said the people of Feni, Noakhali and Lakshmipur have expectations from BNP, and BNP also has a key demand from them.
“Just as the people of this region expect BNP to solve their problems, BNP also has one demand—to make the sheaf of paddy victorious,” he said.

Referring to local development demands, Tarique said BNP would establish a medical college in Feni if it comes to power.
“Insha’Allah, we will establish a medical college here,” he said, responding to earlier calls from party leaders for improved healthcare infrastructure.

He also outlined BNP’s plan to strengthen rural healthcare by appointing village-level health workers across the country.
“These workers will go door to door to provide basic healthcare services to women and children, so they do not need to go to hospitals for minor illnesses,” he said, recalling similar initiatives during the tenure of late President Ziaur Rahman.

After concluding a rally at Chattogram’s Polo Ground earlier in the day, Tarique arrived at the Feni venue at 5:55pm and offered Maghrib prayers before taking the stage.

Following the Feni rally, he is scheduled to address election gatherings in Chauddagram, Soagazi and Daudkandi in Cumilla, and later at Balur Math in Narayanganj.

Tarique Rahman formally launched BNP’s national election campaign from Sylhet on January 22. The Feni rally marked his second major campaign event outside Dhaka.

The rally was presided over by Feni district BNP convener Sheikh Farid Bahar and conducted by member secretary Alal Uddin Alal. BNP candidates and senior central leaders from Noakhali, Feni and Lakshmipur districts were also present and addressed the gathering.
