Turning to local development, Rahman pledged to transform Tangail’s economy if the BNP forms the government. His vision includes:
- Saree Industry: Upgrading the traditional saree sector for global export, modeled after the garment industry.
- Infrastructure: Constructing a barrage on the Jamuna River and reviving the jute industry.
- Agro-processing: Establishing pineapple juice processing factories to utilize the region's agricultural strengths.
The rally in Tangail marked the final stop of Rahman's intense campaign tour across the northern region, where he visited multiple districts to mobilize the grassroots ahead of the national election and the July Charter referendum.
